Frequently Asked Qestions

A list of commonly asked questions about Storytime Foundation asked and answered.
How are children chosen for the programmme?

All health professionals, who are part of the Storytime Foundation team, assess each family at their well child visit to see if they come within the criteria to join the programme. They are looking to see if the child has access to children’s books i.e. whether there are books in the home or the family uses a local library. If the health professional determines that books are not available, the child is enrolled immediately.

Are the books on loan?

The books are given to the child as a personal gift. Each book has a label on the back indicating that it has been presented by Storytime Foundation.

Where does Storytime Foundation get their books?

All books are purchased new by the Storytime Foundation. It has always been their policy to give only new books. The Trust believes that it is essential that the children in the programme be given quality new books.
